Soft Terminal With SoftTerminal, companies can process transactions at lightning-fast speed through a secure Internet connection (SSL v3.0). This Windows-based application developed by ACH Direct enables such rapid authorizations by using a constant connection through the Internet rather than expensive dedicated leased lines.
Merchants with SoftTerminal can swiftly perform any of the following at POS: convert checks into ACH items, process credit card purchases, verify checks using ATM or Direct Verify, take check or credit card payments (single payments) over the phone, and authorize checks over the phone. Retail businesses in particular consider SoftTerminal a perfect fit.
Features
Unlike our VirtualTerminal product, which can support recurring payments, SoftTerminal is designed for single-entry payments.
All data stored on merchants’ computers and transmitted is encrypted for the merchants’ and their customers’ protection. SoftTerminal supports the latest anti-fraud features such as Address Verification Services (AVS) in addition to CVV2 and CVC2. This application also supports multiple users with several levels of security including transaction type, amount limiting, and feature limiting.
Transactions Supported
Credit card types supported include VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB. VISA’s e-commerce indicator (ECI) and Purchase Card Level II transactions are also supported. Credit card processors supported include Nova and Global.
Equipment supported includes Magtek Check/Credit Card Reader, Magtek Mini USB Credit Card Swipe Reader, KB Emulation Track 1&2, and Magtek Micr Imager. Merchants must also have a dedicated Internet connection.
Reporting

How It Works
Transporter is simple to use – the transaction data file is placed into a directory that has been designated in the Transporter configuration settings as the Send Directory. This directory can either be located on a shared drive or can be located on the computer that generated the transaction file. Either way, Transporter will detect the file, encrypt the file, and then send the file out for settlement. Additionally, Transporter can be set up to automatically pull down and decrypt response files and store the data to a location designated by the merchant.
With Transporter’s external application triggering features, other programs run automatically when a particular event occurs. In this manner, the application can be used to run an import and process program each time a file is received, or to trigger a program that updates an external database when an item is successfully transmitted. The possibilities are virtually unlimited.
With Transporter’s event notification features, automatic emails, faxes or pages can be automatically sent when a specific event occurs – alerting the user when a transmission fails, or possibly sending over the results of a transaction batch or even the details of the items that were sent out for processing.
